"My Windows 10 is not formating new Hard Drives", I have migrated from Window 7 to Windows 10. Before I migrated to Windows 10, I bought a new WD MyPassport ultra 2TB to backup my files. Afterwards, I migrated to Windows 10. Today, I bought a new WD MyPassport Ultra 1TB to backup additional files. The problem is the new drive (the 1TB) is not recognized. My other drive (the 2TB) is recognized. It is showing in Device Manager, Disk Management and Diskpart. Tried to partition, assign a new drive letter and format the new disk using Disk Management and Diskpart but no luck. In Diskpart, the new disk volume is shown as OFFLINE. Tried to ONLINE the disk but it is only hanging. Formatting does not work also as the status is stuck to 0%. Also tried to convert from GPT to MBR but still no luck. Ejecting the USB drive is also not working. Even a shutdown took longer if I have the USB disk plug in. My next option is to format the USB disk in Windows 7 machine and see if there is any luck or worse case revert my windows 10 to windows 7. Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have encountered a lot of problems.

There are more than 80% people in this world who are using Windows systems. Yes, Windows systems are really powerful and easy to use. It sets nearly all default settings for users, so people don't need to set them one by one. Here comes a big problem: among these users, most of them don't know how to change Windows settings to meet their own special requirements.Reinstalling Windows may not lead to permanent data loss. Lost files can be recovered with data recovery software unless the lost files are overwritten. If you want to recover lost files after reinstalling Windows, please stop using the hard disk and make sure you do not save any data to the hard disk, as this would cause data to be overwritten and permanent data loss. Once the data is overwritten, it is little chance to recover lost files after reinstalling Windows by any data recovery software.
